NOTE: Prior to 2001 pitchers were allowed to throw a maximum of seven innings in one day. Beginning in 2001, on a two-year trial basis, pitchers were allowed to throw a maximum of nine innings in one day. Beginning in 2003, the maximum seven innings in one day rule was reinstated and remains today.

Class History

The IESA sanctioned girls softball in 1978. There was one class of girls softball until 2001 when the activity was split into A and AA based upon enrollment.
