Slammer Systems, Inc. Named as Official Lock-out System of the IESA

The Illinois Elementary School Association is pleased to announce that Slammer Systems, Inc. has been named the official lock-out system of the IESA. The adoption of the official lock-out system is for the next three school years.

"I am very pleased to announce the new partnership with Slammer Systems," said IESA Executive Director Steve Endsley. "These are exciting times for the activity of scholastic bowl and the relationship we are building with Slammer Systems meshes perfectly with the growth of the activity and the mission of the IESA."

Slammer Systems automatically keeps score, manages time, controls the ring in process, and produces detailed statistic spreadsheets for every match. This makes it possible for one person to moderate and conduct a match.

The wireless computer based system makes it possible to conduct a match over the internet without spending money and time traveling. Slammer Systems can be used as a vehicle for school fundraising. "As our member schools tighten budgets for extra-curricular activities, the Slammer Systems will limit our schools expenses and expand fundraising potential," said Asst. Executive Director and Scholastic Bowl Administrator Julie Cochran.

The Illinois Elementary School Association is a not-for-profit organization of 800 public and private grade, middle and junior high schools. The IESA is the nation's only organization of its kind for students in grades five-eight. The IESA provides opportunities for participation and recognition in five sports for boys, five sports for girls, and five non-athletic activities. The web site is www.iesa.org.

Slammer Systems, Inc. is based in Illinois. It's their mission to bolster academic competition everywhere by making matches easier to conduct, more enjoyable to watch, and by helping academic teams raise money to support their programs. All of its efforts are directed at elevating the image of, and increasing the attention paid to, academic competition in schools.
